Bullers Wood School for Girls is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Safeguarding legislation and government guidance define safeguarding as:
- Protecting children from maltreatment
- Preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development
- Ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
- Taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcomes

The school’s Safeguarding Team consists of:

Additionally each year group also has at least one trained first point of contact for students to approach regarding safeguarding concerns. This will normally be their Head of Year plus additional trained support staff.
