TIMETABLE for Year 7 Appeals September 2026:

National Offer Day – Monday 2nd March 2026

Any child not offered a place on National Offer Day will have the statutory right of appeal providing Bullers Wood School for Girls was named on the Common Application Form.  You can lodge a request for an appeal in March 2026 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard before the end of the summer term 2026.  For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals.  For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 schools days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 schools days of the appeals being lodged.

Please find below our School Appeals – Frequently Asked Questions & Guidance Notes.  After reading these, if you still wish to appeal, please complete the Appeal Form below for Year 7 September 2026.

You need to return the form (with any supporting documentation) by post or email to Mrs Berry (hberry@bwsgirls.org) by Tuesday 31st March 2026.  All Appeal Forms will be acknowledged by email; please contact Mrs Berry if you do not receive an acknowledgement within three working days.

Year 7 Appeal Hearings for September 2026 will be held on Tuesday 9th June 2026 and Wednesday 10th June 2026.

The conduct of an Appeals Panel is governed by the DfE School Admission Appeals Code of Practice.  This is a summary of current procedures:

  • An appeal must be submitted in writing setting out the grounds on which it is made.
  • Parents must be given the opportunity to attend and speak at the hearing (All Appeals will be held virtually via Zoom or Telephone Call).
  • The Appeal Panel will weigh-up the case submitted by the parent/carer against the case made by the school (which is normally that the school is full and to admit more pupils would cause prejudice).
  • The Appeal Panel’s decision is binding on the Authority and the School.

In Year Applications and Appeals

If you are looking for an In Year place at Bullers Wood School for Girls (for example because you have moved into the area, or you wish your child to change schools) you can apply for an In Year Admission via the Local Authority.  You can find the application form and more information on the Bromley website: Guidance notes for Parents/carers – applying for a Bromley Secondary school

Please note, the school does not take applications directly and we do not have access to the waiting lists; these are held by the Borough.

Any child not offered a place will have the statutory right of appeal.  Those wishing to appeal should register their intention of doing so by sending a letter, addressed to The Clerk to the Appeal Panel, c/o Mrs Berry (hberry@bwsgirls.org) within 14 days of being informed that their child has not been allocated a place.  All appeal letters will be acknowledged in writing.  Appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

Please complete the Appeal Form below for an In Year Appeal.
